Pain in the AS is a personal site and newsletter run by Andrew Hunt - someone who has had ankylosing spondylitis for about 20 years. Everything here is written from lived experience, not clinical training.
By using this site you're agreeing to these terms. They're short and written in plain language.

Nothing on this site is medical advice. Nothing here should replace the guidance of your rheumatologist, GP, or any other qualified health professional. AS affects everyone differently - what works for one person may not work for another. Always consult your doctor before making decisions about your treatment, medication, or health.

You're welcome to read, share links to, and quote from anything on this site - with attribution. Please don't reproduce full articles or guides elsewhere without asking first.

Accounts
If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your login details secure. Don't share your account with others.
I can close accounts that are being misused - though to be honest, I can't imagine why anyone would misuse a site about living with AS.
Membership and payments
Membership is a recurring subscription billed monthly or annually. You can cancel any time - there's no minimum term and no cancellation fee. Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; if something went wrong, just ask.

This site links to external resources - research papers, other patient sites, product recommendations. I try to link to useful, credible things, but I can't control what's on other sites and I'm not responsible for their content.
Governing law
This site is run from New Zealand. New Zealand law applies. If there's ever a dispute, that's where it would be resolved.
